Turner and Busch will portray the two female leads. Carl Andress will direct the production, which will officially open Feb. 2, 2009. Performances will continue through Feb. 28.

Third Story, which was recently seen at the La Jolla Playhouse, features three interconnected stories. The production, according to press notes, is described as such: "A mother and son screenwriting team hunker down in Omaha after fleeing Commie-obsessed 1940's Hollywood. A romantically-inclined but socially-inept princess makes a deal with an ancient witch. And tommy guns meet test tubes as a way-too-well-dressed first lady of the mob forms a desperate alliance with a cloning scientist whose experiments have had, um, less-than-consistent results. Gangster flicks, fairy tales and B-movie sci-fi collide in this epic comic fable from the sick and silly imagination of Charles Busch."

As previously announced, Third Story replaced Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon on the MCC schedule. The production, which will now be seen in September 2009, has been moved so it doesn't detract from the upcoming Broadway debut of LaBute's reasons to be pretty.

Kathleen Turner, who scored Tony and Olivier nominations for her work in the Broadway and London revivals of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, has also appeared on Broadway in The Graduate, Indiscretions and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, for which she also earned a Tony nomination. Other theatre credits include productions of Travesties, The Seagull and A Midsummer Night's Dream. She starred in the one-woman show Tallulah, which she toured across the U.S. Her films include "Body Heat," "The Man With Two Brains" " Crimes of Passion," "Romancing the Stone," "Jewel of the Nile," "Peggy Sue Got Married," "Prizzi’s Honor" "The Real Blonde," "The Virgin Suicides," "Baby Geniuses," "The War of the Roses," "Serial Mom," "Switching Channels," "V.I.
