Kathleen Turner will vacation from her role in Broadway's hit comedy, The Graduate, Sept. 17-22, a spokesman for the production confirmed.

As of July 11, it had not been decided who will play the role of the infamous Mrs. Robinson during Turner's absence. Her understudies in The Graduate are Susan Cella, who plays The Stripper in the play, and Jurian Hughes, who has appeared on Broadway in Judgment at Nuremberg and Night of the Iguana.

It was also recently announced that Turner has lengthened her stay in the show in order to coincide with co-star Jason Biggs' contract. Biggs left the Broadway production June 10 in order to film a role in Woody Allen's new film. He will return to the show on Aug. 20 but was asked to extend his run through Nov. 17 in order to compensate for the time spent on the film set. During his absence, the role of Benjamin Braddock is being played by film and TV actor Josh Radnor.

There is no word yet as to whether Alicia Silverstone, who portrays Elaine Robinson, will also extend in the production.

Set in California in the 1960s, The Graduate — which was adapted and directed by Terry Johnson — is currently playing The Plymouth Theatre (236 W. 45th Street). Tickets — ranging from $21.25 to $81.25 — are available through Telecharge by calling (212) 239-6200.
