Act Naturally, a new comedy written by and starring Scott Katzman, will be presented Feb. 8-24 at the WorkShop Theater.

Christopher Maring directs the play, which officially opens Feb. 10 and is presented by Intangible Productions. The work is billed as "a 38-character, 7-actor, one-man show run amuck."

The cast includes Katzman, Audrey Amey, Darron Cardosa, Tracee Chimo, Skid Maher, Marlene O’Haire and Gwenyth Reitz.

Set design is by David Behringer with costumes by Paulette Keck, lighting by Melanie Smock and sound by Nicholas Viselli.

According to press notes, Katzman plays "an actor desperate to earn his Equity card. He is unexpectedly thrust on stage in a new play he has neither seen nor read. As this actor's nightmare unravels in front of the audience, we watch him unwittingly use his own life as art, summoning a host of characters whose intersecting lives are forever changed."

Actor-writer Katzman has been seen in productions of Same Time, Next Year; Hurlyburly; A Social Event; The Shadow Box; and The Rainmaker. His screen credits include "Sex and the City," "Saturday Night Live," "All My Children," "Chasing Holden" and "The Day After the Night Before." Katzman also penned The Hypocrates and the TV pilot "Almost Home." The WorkShop Theater is located at 312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, 4th Floor. Tickets are available through SmartTix at (212) 868-4444 or www.smarttix.com.
