Emmy-winning Cheers and M*A*S*H writer Ken Levine will debut his new play Going…Going…Gone! at the Hudson Guild Theatre in Hollywood this fall. The baseball comedy will be directed by Andrew Barnicle, the former artistic director of the Laguna Playhouse, with an official opening night slated for October 1.

The world premiere will begin performances September 29 and play through November 6.

Set in the press box of a major Los Angeles baseball stadium, Going... Going... GONE! stars Annie Abrams, David Babich, Troy Metcalf and Dennis Pearson as four sports journalists whose lives are changed during the course of one game.

“The characters are all loosely based on people I know,” comments Levine in a press statement. “These folks are working in a world that celebrates milestones above all else. They are wrestling with time, wondering what their legacy will be.”

“Ken is writing from a very personal perspective,” Barnicle says. “He understands what it means to be locked in a room for hours with a group of very smart sports journalists who can give as good as they get, and whose one shared experience is a love of the game.”

The creative team for Going... Going... GONE! includes set designer Gary Lee Reed; lighting designer Derrick McDaniel; sound designer Cricket S. Myers; costume designer Mylette Nora; graphic designer Kiff Scholl; and casting director Michael Donovan. The stage manager is Emyli Gudmundson; associate producer is Victoria Watson, Theatre Planners; and Racquel Lehrman, Theatre Planners, produces.

The Hudson Guild Theatre is located at 6539 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles. For more information and to purchase tickets, call (323) 960-5521 or go to plays411.com/gone.
