The program, first announced in October 2005, will provide guidance to mid-sized groups in fundraising, labor relations, finance, and other aspects of management. It is the latest in a series of management training efforts launched by the center and its director, Michael M. Kaiser, as part of a larger education initiative.
Among the performing-arts groups chosen for the program are the new-music group Bang on a Can, the dance group Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, the Jos_ Limon Dance Company, the Queens Symphony Orchestra, and the Trisha Brown Dance Company. Theater, literature, and visual arts organizations will also receive assistance.
The program was created for groups with annual budgets between $250,000 and $2.5 million. It will include symposia, online discussions, and one-on-one consulting sessions.
