The Concert Hall event includes familiar works by Dvoršk, Tchaikovsky, and Gli_re; Strauss waltzes; three dances from Leonard Bernstein's On the Town; a selection of marches; and a sing-along to folk songs arranged by Aaron Copland. In addition, the NSO will perform excerpts from ten works, ranging from Brahms to John Williams, and the audience will decide which gets a complete performance.

Sidlin, a widely traveled guest conductor and a leading classical educator, leads the NSO's New Year's Eve concert for the tenth time.

At the Terrace Theater, Elling sings songs associated with Frank Sinatra, as well as some of his own new works. He is joined by the Chicago Jazz Orchestra and the Laurence Hobgood Trio.

Afterward, audiences from both performances will gather in the center's Grand Foyer for a free party, dancing to Radio King Orchestra and the Salon Orchestra of Washington. A ticket stub from a Kennedy Center performance or a receipt from the center's Roof Terrace Restaurant is required for admission.
