A spokesperson for the Kennedy Center confirmed to Playbill On-Line that Rothenberg will join the previously announced Patricia Clarkson (Blanche Du Bois), Brían F. O'Byrne (Mitch) and Amy Ryan (Stella). A Streetcar Named Desire will open the Kennedy Center's festival of Tennessee Williams works, "Tennessee Williams Explored," playing April 27-May 16, 2004, at the Center's Eisenhower Theater. Garry Hynes, the first woman to receive a Best Director of a Play Tony Award (for her work on The Beauty Queen of Leenane), will direct the production about the fragile Blanche Du Bois and her tragic downfall.

Adam Rothenberg has appeared on stage in productions of Antigone, Dracula, The Sure Thing, The Lobster Day, Seascape with Sharks and Dancer and Specter. He was seen in the Manhattan Source productions of Center of Gravity, The Beautiful One and Close Encounters and the Women's Project's mounting of Birdy. Rothenberg's screen credits include "A.U.S.A.," "Hack," "Coyote Beach" and "Modern Young Man."
