The film, to be released by Paramount, is directed by Christian Alvert and written by Ray Wright. Also starring are Ian McShane and Bradley Cooper. "Case No. 39" begins shooting Sept. 6 in Vancouver.
O'Malley has been seen on Broadway in Into the Woods and Annie Get Your Gun. Off-Broadway she has acted in The Plough and the Stars, How I Learned to Drive, Bright Lights, Big City and Flight.
Zellweger's film credits include the musical "Chicago," in which she played Roxie Hart, and Cold Mountain, for which she won an Oscar.
