If the London theatre awards are any harbinger of American prizes, Kevin Spacey is a natural for this year's best actor in a play Tony Award. Spacey has just netted the London Critics' Drama Award for his performance at Hickey in Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh. Also a winner is that revival's director, Howard Davies. Iceman will begin previews at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre March 29 for an April 8 opening. Spacey will head a cast peopled by Robert Sean Leonard, Tony Danza and several members of the original British cast.

Last November, Spacey walked away with the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actor. Davies also won for best director. Furthermore, both Spacey and Davies have been nominated for London theatre's top prize, the Olivier Award. The Oliviers will be presented Feb. 12.

Spacey's other credits include winning Featured Actor Tony for Lost in Yonkers and film roles in "The Usual Suspects," "Seven" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."
