“This [is] actually the first time I’ve met some of the cast,” Chenoweth said, adding, “I can’t wait [to] come in your play box and scratch around.”

The cast will also include Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon and Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday with Pablo Schreiber (Mad Sweeney), Yetide Badaki (Bilquis) and Bruce Langley (Technical Boy).

American Gods, according to a previous report from BBC America, tells the story of a “conflict between traditional gods, with their focus on morality and community, and a new breed of deities devoted to modern concerns: money, celebrity, decadence and technology. The principle character is the former criminal Shadow Moon—bodyguard to a Mr. Wednesday, conman and god—who is trying to recruit people to battle these new gods.”

A premiere date has yet to be announced.

Chenoweth and Fuller previously collaborated on the series Pushing Daisies, which earned the singing actress a 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
