According to CBS News, the Promises, Promises star invited a group of foster children to visit her backstage June 14 at the Broadway Theatre, where she currently stars opposite Sean Hayes in the hit musical revival.

Chenoweth, who is adopted herself, put together the event with Wendy’s to support the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. She told CBS, “The message is simple – we want to get foster kids into homes. One of the things people forget about - if you have parents, you have parents. A lot of kids don't. I was lucky. It's changed my life by having parents."

Chenoweth also told CBS she will be working on a new album, with a promotional tour as a bonus, after she leaves Promises in September. In addition, she mentioned an unspecified television project awas in the works.

She may also return to “Glee” to reprise her role of down-on-her-luck, former high-school star April Rhodes. She said of her recurring role on the hit series, "I've gotten to come back twice. They keep talking about what she's gonna do next, so I can only assume I'll be back."

Chenoweth received a Tony Award for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and an Emmy for “Pushing Daisies.” Other stage credits include Wicked, The Apple Tree and Steel Pier.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, named for the Wendy’s founder who was an adoptee himself, works to provide homes for children awaiting adoption. This weekend, Wendy’s will donate 50 cents for every Frosty sold to the foundation.
