Chenoweth, most recently on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of On the Twentieth Century, will voice the role of Snoopy's love interest, Fifi.

The Tony and Emmy-winning actress told USA Today, "Fifi's a smart, spirited poodle and she has some great pink accessories…She's a dog, but she has this feminine way about her while still being very much Snoopy's equal."

Chenoweth also spoke about creating a voice for Fifi, who was first seen in a TV special in 1980 entitled "Life Is a Circus, Charlie Brown."

"The trick was to invent Fifi's language and make it emotional, without words. It was vocally challenging," Chenoweth said. "I used Snoopy as my guide and did a female version. And it gives a personality there."

Chenoweth shot to fame following her Tony Award-winning performance as Sally in the 1999 Broadway production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. "I really did this because it's something close to my heart," Chenoweth told USA Today. "I'll always remember my history with the family and Peanuts. It seemed like the right and most natural thing to do." The aforementioned "Muppets" episode is titled "Ex-Factor" and is described as such: "In the episode, Kermit is scrambling to find the perfect birthday gift for Denise, so he turns to Miss Piggy for help. Meanwhile, Chenoweth agrees to do a gig with The Electric Mayhem and inadvertently causes a rift between the band."
