News Kritzer, Von Essen, Cody and O'Keefe Featured in "The Battery's Down" Web Series June 1 The fifth episode of the showbiz-themed web series "The Battery's Down" – chronicling the life of a young performer in New York City – will feature Leslie Kritzer, Max von Essen, Jenn Cody and composer Laurence O'Keefe.

Jake Wilson, a University of Michigan graduate, plays himself in the original series composed of 20-minute episodes debuting the first of each month. Directed and written by Wilson, the latest episode, entitled "Deaf, Dumb, and Blonde," will premiere June 1 at 12:01 AM. In the upcoming episode A Catered Affair's Leslie Kritzer, a former Legally Blonde cast member, will perform the original song "With Your Hands," which was penned by Legally Blonde composer Laurence O'Keefe (who makes a guest appearance) with lyrics by Kristen A. Guenther.

Also featured in the June 1 episode are Mary Faber (Saved), Max von Essen (Les Miserables), University of Michigan graduate Susanne Layton and casting directors Bernard Telsey and Tara Rubin.

Urinetown's Jennifer Cody returns in the recurring role of Nancy Maguire, alongside series regulars Cortney Wolfson (Les Misérables), Dani Spieler (Legally Blonde), Michael Kadin Craig (Altar Boyz) and Nina Sturtz.

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Edges, Johnny and the Sprites) have penned the theme song for the series that also includes the work of composers David Kirshenbaum (Vanities, Party Come Here), Josh Salzman and Ryan Cunningham (I Love You Because), and Ryan Scott Oliver and Kirsten A. Guenther (Alive at Ten), who penned the series' closing song "This is Your Life."
