News La Cage Is First of Three Planned Jerry Herman Revivals for Broadway The Tony Award-nominated revival of La Cage aux Folles is the first of three Jerry Herman shows that will get Broadway revivals produced by the Nederlanders.

Producer James L. Nederlander told Playbill.com, "It's one of Jerry Herman's greats and there's a whole new generation out there, 20 years now, that could and should see it."

The Jerry Zaks-directed revival at the Marquis Theatre has been nominated for 2005 Tonys in the categories of Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Leading Actor in a Musical (Gary Beach) and Best Revival of a Musical.

Nederlander said that discussions continue for a possible cast album for the production, which includes some new material by composer-lyricist Herman (listen to the frisky counterpoint sung in "With Anne on My Arm" in Act One).

Nederlander also confirmed the previously reported news that his family's producing operation is looking ahead to stagings of Herman's two other major hits — Mame and Hello, Dolly!

"Jerry's given us all three of his shows," Nederlander said, adding that no timeline for these productions has been announced.
