The writer C.S. Lewis, creator of the children's Chronicles of Narnia, didn't expect to fall in love near the end of his life. But when outspoken American poet Joy Gresham showed up at Oxford, their lives became inescapably intertwined. Two-time Academy Award nominee William Nicholson ("Shadowlands," "Gladiator") examines faith, God and love in Shadowlands, his comic drama detailing the last decade of Lewis' life.

L.A. Theatre Works live radio series revives the Tony Award nominee May 16-20 at the Skirball Cultural Center. Martin Jarvis (By Jeeves) and Harriet Harris star as Lewis and Gresham with Jenny Sullivan directing.

Jarvis portrayed Jeeves in stage production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's By Jeeves and the recently filmed version, produced by Lloyd Webber. His West End and Royal National Theatre credits include Woman in Mind, Henceforward, Other Places and Precisely, as well as the Donmar staging of Passion Play and South Coast Repertory's Skylight. Harris recently played Mrs. Jankis in "Memento." She has performed at Manhattan Theatre Club, Roundabout Theatre, New York Shakespeare Festival, Long Wharf Theatre and Yale Repertory.

All TheatreWorks theatre productions are recorded for future broadcast on Santa Monica College's KCRW 89.9FM and are sold on the L.A. Theatre Works homepage at http://www.latw.org. In the past 11 years, productions have won several awards including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's Gold and Silver Awards, three Sony Awards, the Writer's Guild of America's Best Comedy Award and the 1999 Audie Award for Best Dramatic Production from the Audio Publishers Association. Their recording of The Prisoner of Second Avenue, featuring Richard Dreyfuss and Mason, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Comedy Album. Tickets are $34-$38.
