News LAB Regulars Portia, Liza Colon-Zayas, muMs, More Read at Barn Series Festival Portia, Liza Colon-Zayas, muMs, Chris Messina, Elizabeth Canavan, Yetta Gottesman, Phyllis Sommerville and David Zayas are among the actors taking part in the LAByrinth Theater Company's Barn Series Festival of new works currently playing.

The seventh annual free reading series of new developing works performs at The Public Theater's Shiva Theater through Dec. 20.

The lineup is as follows (all times are 8 PM unless otherwise noted):

  • Becoming Jack by Justin Reinsilber - directed by Elizabeth Canavan (Dec. 2 and 4)
    Chris Chalk, Salvatore Inzerillo, Dina Janis, Kelley Rae O'Donnell, Melissa Paladino, Richie Petrocelli, Felix Solis, Ed Vassallo and Aaron Roman Weiner.
  • The Wild Inside by Cusi Cram - directed by Mimi O'Donnell (Dec. 3 and 5)
    Julian Acosta, Carlo Alban, Yetta Gottesman, Salvatore Inzerillo, Florencia Lozano and Paula Pizzi.

  • The History of Invulnerability by David Bar Katz - directed by John Gould Rubin (Dec. 15 and 19)

  • A View From 151St Street by Bob Glaudini - directed by Peter DuBois (Dec. 17 and 20)
    Gbenga Akkinagbe, Liza Colon-Zayas, Russell G. Jones, Marisa Malone, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Felix Solis, muMs and David Zayas.
  • Untitled - written & directed by Stephen Adly Guirgis (Dec. 18 - 7 and 9 PM)
    No casting announced. Past works featured in the Barn series include Nilo Cruz's Beauty of the Father, Megan Mostyn Brown's The Secret Lives of Losers (Tribeca Theater Festival), Michael Puzzo's The Dirty Talk (New York International Fringe Festival) as well as Stephen Belber's A Small Melodramatic, John Patrick Shanley's Sailor's Song, José Rivera's Massacre (Sing to Your Children) and Guirgis’ The Last Days of Judas Iscariot — the latter four developed into full stagings part of LAB's mainstage.

    The LAB currently enjoys its 15th anniversary season. Next up for the troupe will be Bob Glaudini's Jack Goes Boating (starring Beth Cole, Daphne Rubin-Vega, John Ortiz and Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Eric Bogosian's This Is Now! penned with musician-composer Elliott Sharp; as well as developmental productions of Carlo Alban's intríngulis and Andrea Ciannavei's Pretty Chin Up.
