News Langel Will Be Eva in Maltz Jupiter's Evita; Casting Complete Jodie Langel, who has been seen on Broadway in Les Misérables and in the national tour of Cats, will star in the title role of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's upcoming production of the Tony-winning musical Evita.

Directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical will play the Florida venue March 17-April 5. Langel will be joined onstage by Rudy Martinez as Che, David Studwell as Peron, Curt Dale Clark as Magaldi and Kelley McGillicuddy as the Mistress.

The ensemble comprises Mark Borum, Sydney Carbo, Elizabeth Casalini, Desiree Davar, Alice Eacho, Tiffany Huet, Jay Johnson, Ken McMullen, Jo Patrick, Lisa Rumbauskas, Christopher Ryan, Nick Savarese, Michael Scirrotto, Patty Stirling and Sidney Erik Wright. The children's choir includes Celeste Abramowitz, Colleen Broome, Sarah Evans, Matthew Mellusi, Lauren Mulrooney, Valentina Pierce, Alina Pimentel, Aidan Renda, Emily Rynasko, Molli Sramowicz, Emily Sima and Elli Sweet.

The production will also feature musical direction by Helen Gregory, set design by Robert Kovach, costume design by M. Shan Jensen, lighting design by Donald Thomas, sound design by Keith Kohrs and wig design by Gerard Kelly.

Evita, which premiered as a two-LP recording starring Julie Covington (Eva) and Colm Wilkinson (Che), features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics). Hal Prince staged both the original London and New York productions of the musical, which made stars of Elaine Paige (in London) and Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone (on Broadway). The score features such tunes as "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Buenos Aires," "A New Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," "I'd Be Surprisingly Good for You" and "Rainbow High." Madonna, Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Pryce starred in the film version; Elena Roger headed the cast of the London revival.
