2002 Tony Award nominees Elizabeth Franz, Frances Sternhagen, William Biff McGuire and Stephen Tobolowksy will travel to Los Angeles with the Lincoln Center revival of Morning's at Seven, set for an Ahmanson Theatre run Dec. 11-Jan. 26, 2003. Other members of the Broadway cast, including Julie Hagerty, actor-writer Buck Henry and TV's Piper Laurie, will also perform their Broadway roles with Mary Louise Wilson stepping in for Estelle Parsons.

Morning's at Seven concerns the doings of four Midwestern sisters (Franz, Laurie, Sternhagen and Wilson) and three of their husbands (including Henry and McGuire), all in their golden years, as well as Sternhagen's middle-aged son, Homer (Tobolowsky), and his longtime fiancee (Hagerty). The title is taken from a Robert Browning poem that includes the line, "Morning's at seven/God's in his heaven/All's right with the world."

Morning's at Seven was nominated for the 2002 Best Revival of a Play Tony, but lost to Private Lives. Private Lives and Fortune's Fool were the other two plays the Ahmanson was considering, but the theatre decided on Morning's.

The rest of the Ahmanson Theatre season includes The Producers with Martin Short and Jason Alexander (beginning at Pantages Theatre, April 2003), Lily Tomlin in The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe (May 13-July 6, 2003 at the Ahmanson), the national tour of 42nd Street (July 9-Aug. 31, 2003) and bonus engagements of Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk (Jan. 28-Feb. 9, 2003) and Mamma Mia! (Sept. 19-Nov. 3, 2002).
