She's a Housewife in Blue, but how blue can she be? Lisa Ann Orkin, who created and stars as a modern twist on the happy-go-lucky cooker and cleaner of the '50s ideal, reappears for a special one night only performance Dec. 17 at the Gardenia Bar and Grill.

A raunchy comedy about the postmodern housewife, Blue literally describes the humor and our heroine's mood. She was once a teenage dancing queen but suddenly has found herself saddled with a high-school sweetheart who is now a no-good husband and the father of her several kids. The only way out is the popular American solution to martial problems — divorce.

Orkin (DaDa at La Jolla Playhouse) stars as the Housewife in Blue with backup from The P.T.A. and the band Supportive Spouse. Carol Thomas as Gertrude and Nora Linden as Mabel make up the P.T.A. while Matt Vinson (keyboards), Michael Wachs (percussion) and Russell Thomas (bass) are Supportive Spouse.

Tickets are $8 or two cans of food. The Gardenia Bar and Grill is located at 7066 Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood. For reservations, call (323) 467-7444 . Housewife in Blue is on the web at http://www.jmsvideo.com/HW/HWinblu1.html.
