Inside the Ford, a theatre company working out of what was formerly called Taper, Too (in the John Anson Ford complex), has announced its 2000-2001 season. Two world premieres and a Los Angeles premiere have been scheduled by the company, which is backed by the L.A. County Arts Commission and A.S.K. Theatre Projects.

Inside the Ford's 87-seat theatre has been newly refurbished and now offers upholstered, tiered seats and a spacious outdoor lobby nestled in the Hollywood Hills. Kicking off the new season (Nov. 9-Dec. 17, 2000) is the Playwrights' Arena production of Daniel Cariaga's Sleepwalk, directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera. It deals with a corporate climber who has finally found a place where he can feel in control--the private booths of a suburban sex shop. But, as Cariaga asks, what can you do when your sins at work start following you home?

A production of Timescape Arts Group, Two-Headed by Julie Jensen, follows Jan. 11-Feb. 25, 2001. Directed by Veronica Brady, the play is set in 19th century Utah, a place where men claimed divine inspiration when they married multiple wives--and massacred the outsiders who threatened them. The Los Angeles premiere is a western epic which traces the divergent paths of two pioneer women over a period of five decades.

Overtone Industries' production of The Woman Who Forgot Her Sweater will be unveiled March 15-April 21. The "grim" fairy-tale chamber opera has music by O-Lan Jones, libretto by Kathleen Cramer and is directed by Roxanne Rogers. Gretchen Johnson plays a woman who is summoned to the side of her dying mother by a mysterious voice. Arriving too late, she is lured into the wild country where a chorus of lions transports her to another realm, leaving only her sweater behind. Ken Roht plays the husband.
