What the Butler Saw joins Oedipus the King in Glendale, CA's A Noise Within's spring repertory season, opening March 19 after starting previews March 12. Butler will run through May 15.
Joe Orton's fast-paced 1967 farce follows the twisted comic seductions of Nick the bellboy who wants Mrs. Prentice who only wants Dr. Prentice to fetch her drink while the good doctor wants nothing more than see Geraldine (who merely wants a job) naked. Enter Dr. Rance, the government inspector, who wants to understand it all.
Other plays on A Noise Within's 1999 spring repertory schedule include Kenneth Cavander's translation of Sophocles' Oedipus the King (March 5-May 8); and Shaw's Heartbreak House (April 9-May 16).
