LOS ANGELES--The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, continuing its mission to present classics, will stage Bertolt Brecht's The Good Woman of Setzuan in an ongoing celebration of his 100th birthday anniversary, with the show opening June 20.
Translated by Ralph Manheim, The Good Woman of Setzuan is the story of three gods who come to earth in search of one good woman. They find Shen Te, a poor prostitute, on whom the gods lavish their attention.
The play is directed by Ron Sossi, with music composed and directed by Shawn Paxton. The ensemble includes Alan Abelew, Barry Cutler, Beth Hogan, Vincent Issac, Carl Johnson, Janice Johnson, Judith Jordan, Jewell Lain, Michael Leopard, Kent Minault, Donna Pieroni, Clarinda Ross, Steven Rozic, Saige Spinney, Alex Stevenson, Paul Vroom and Eric Whitmore.
