GRANTwritings, ten short plays and monologues by Grant Gottschall which make up the latest bill of plays presented by Theatre Neo at the Hudson Avenue Theatre in Hollywood, has been extended until March 30.

GRANTwritings opened Jan. 26 and runs on Tuesdays only.

Nineteen different actors perform during the course of the evening. Two of the plays on the bill, Sex in the Title and The Thing of It, have been seen in L.A. before, winning Drama-Logue prizes. A new work, The Last Client, is premiering during this run.

Gottschall, who is currently a senior producer on Fox's "World's Wildest Police Videos," said that "short plays are my specialty. I've written only one full-length, which has yet to be produced. But I actually spend more time on a 10-minute piece than on anything else, as I am constantly revising and polishing."

As for the monologues, they came out of a time when Gottschall paid the rent by writing audition monologues for actors. "I wrote 85 monologues in one year," he said. "It was hard work, but it was also a great way to learn how to write for actors." The Hudson Avenue Theatre is at 1110 Hudson Ave. Call (323) 769-5858.
