LOS ANGELES -- Last Chance to catch California Youth Theatre celebrating its 35th anniversary by mounting Lionel Bart's musical Oliver! at the Pan Pacific Park (under the stars) in the 7600 block of Beverly Blvd.
This fully-staged production with live orchestra (using the original London score) runs for nine performances, July 31-Aug. 16.
Oliver! had its Broadway premiere in 1963, winning a Tony Award a year later.
CYT's multi-ethnic cast and orchestra consists of over 70 youths who were selected from the Los Angeles and Orange County area, ranging in age 10-25 years.
The show is directed and choreographed by Corky Dominguez with Russell Lawrence as musical director. The producer is Jack Nakano. Performances are Friday - Sunday 7.30 PM, closing Sunday, Aug. 16.
