Set in the woods of Medieval Wales, Wren traces Abbot Lucien Morot's obsession with Madlin of Wren, a healing woman whose powers he craves. His search for her ability becomes an attempt to supplant the God he says he serves.

Wren is Denton Davis' New York playwriting debut. A co-founder of the Santa Fe Theatre Company and the Playwrights Lab, three of her plays were presented at the 1995 Williamstown Theatre Festival.

MTC artistic director Valentina Fratti directs a cast that includes Tracy Sallows (Angels in America) as Madlin, Michael Etheridge Black, White & Blue) as Lucien Morot, Jeffrey Hayenga (As Bees in Honey Drown) as Moss, Hilary Howard as Dorie Lightly, Jon Malmed as Bale, Christopher Peterson as Renard, Robert Ross (Serban's The Taming of the Shrew) as Father Cullen Goodwin and Ben Sheaffer (Corpus Christi, The Sound of Music) as Alec Lightly.

Wren designers include Zeke Leonard (set), Rodney Munoz and Nan Young (costumes), Scott Poitras (lighting) and Eric Shim (sound). Jamey Shafer is the stage manager. Tickets are $15-$10 and available by calling 212-268-9829, ext. 1. The Miranda Theatre is located at 259 West 30th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues.
