News Last Chance: Gibson's Chrome Performed in CA Thru Oct. 16 The Sacred Fools Theatre Company's West Coast premiere of William Gibson's Burning Chrome will end its limited engagement on Oct. 16. Gibson is a best-selling science-fiction writer whose books have sold in the millions, winning him the Philip K. Dick and Nebula Awards. He has been credited with originating the concepts of cyberspace and the Matrix, which have figured so prominently in popular culture in the past decade.

The Sacred Fools Theatre Company's West Coast premiere of William Gibson's Burning Chrome will end its limited engagement on Oct. 16. Gibson is a best-selling science-fiction writer whose books have sold in the millions, winning him the Philip K. Dick and Nebula Awards. He has been credited with originating the concepts of cyberspace and the Matrix, which have figured so prominently in popular culture in the past decade.

Gibon's novel "Burning Chrome" has been adapted for the stage by Steve Pickering and Charley Sherman. Pickering is also an actor and is presently working on Broadway as Bernard in the hit revival of Death of a Salesman.

Scott Rabinowitz directs. His recent directorial credits include Othello for the Pasadena Shakespeare Company and Timon of Athens for Sacred Fools. As an actor he recently co-starred in HBO's "Lansky" with Richard Dreyfuss.

Burning Chrome is set in the near future, where the notions of countries and nations have receded into insignificance, replaced by mega-corporations. Human activity is directed by money, power and the hunger of heightened sensation, including the "consensual hallucination" of cyberspace "where all the computer data lives."

The cast includes Adam Bitterman, David Holcomb, Pat Towne, Joel Christian, Jennifer Barrick, Teresa Castracaner, Lissette Bross, Desi Doyen, Marty Yu, Al Vicente, Jeff Goldman, Charles Barrett, Jennifer Wu, Jesse Marion and Tenny Priebe.Sacred Fools Theatre is located at 660 N.
