Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine, the new play by Side Man Tony winner Warren Leight, ends its scheduled run at Penguin Rep in Stony Point, NY, Dec. 5. Performances began Nov. 11 for an opening Nov. 14.

Penguin Rep spokesperson Andrew Horn said the show was going "very well" but didn't yet know what future plans Leight had for the piece, which was formerly titled, "The Glimmer Brothers."

At Penguin Rep, John Ruocco directs a cast featuring Jeffrey Hayenga and Steven Marcus, as twin brothers Daniel and Martin, once united in their love of jazz but estranged since Daniel turned his back on both Martin and his love of music years before; Todd Weeks as Martin's godson Jordon, and Nile Lanning as Daniel's daughter Delia, both of whom try to bring the two brothers back together.

Weeks was recently seen Off-Broadway in the Atlantic Theatre Company's The Cider House Rules. Lanning is a veteran of Leight's own The Loop. Hayenga was seen on Broadway in the title role of The Elephant Man.

The drama had a production at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this past summer, July 14-25. David Schwimmer and John Spencer starred. Soon after the Williamstown gig, The Glimmer Brothers was mentioned as part of the 1999-2000 Roundabout line-up. That arrangement has since fallen through for unspecified reasons, however. Since receiving a Tony for Side Man, Leight has seen an Off-Off Broadway production of his earlier play The Loop, as well as numerous staging of Side Man, including one at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

Penguin Repertory is located on Crickettown Road in Stony Point, Rockland Country, New York. Call (914) 786-2873 for information. Next up are two world premieres: a play with music about Bessie Smith, The Devil's Music, by Angelo Parra and starring Miche Braden (Feb-March 2000). After that will be Sheldon and Mrs. Levine by Sam Bobrick and Julie Stein.
