James McLure's Pvt. Wars will end at North Hollywood's Sweet Lies Theatre in the Bitter Truth Theatre complex Feb. 28. Actor, playwright and journalist Martin Berg heads the play's company. Performances began Feb. 5.

Written in 1984, Pvt. Wars examines three Vietnam veterans suffering from physical and psychiatric problems in a veterans hospital. One is impotent, one obsessive-compulsive and one suicidal. All three must come to grips with their problems to escape the hospital. Other plays by McLure include Lone Star, Laundry and Bourbon and Wild Oats.

Adam Wilhite directs the three person cast. Berg, who recently performed in American Buffalo and Fool For Love also wrote One Mile Down the Road and is a legal journalist who has appeared on "Nightline" and will receive an award from the Society of Professional Journalists in Feb. 1999. Darren Gray Ward has appeared on the TV series "JAG," "Baywatch," "Space: Above and Beyond" and as the love interest on the French series, "Madame La Consule." Oliver Henzler's stage credits include Firebugs, The Sirens and Woyzeck.
