NADA 45, the new mid-town space added to Aaron Beall's Lower East Side empire, will close its run of Marlowe's Edward the Second -- adapted and directed by Graham Brown -- on Feb. 13. It began performances on Jan. 28.

The hour and fifteen minute adaptation will showcase an original score/sound design by Billy Atwell (of the pop alt band, Shirley Temple of Doom) and reportedly addresses the play's concern for sexuality without destroying the tragedy structure surrounding Marlowe's text. In 1991, film director Derek Jarman directed a screen version of the Jacobean tragedy, highlighting the king's perceived homosexuality.

Aaron Beall, artistic director of NADA, took over the midtown space (at 445 West 45th Street) last year from former tenant and Beall's Fringe Festival co-hort, John Clancy. Clancy moved his Present Company and the New York Fringe Festival's headquarters to their current Lower East Side digs, The Present Company Theatorium (198 Stanton Street). Other NADA performance venues include: NADA, The Pink Pony, The Piano Store, House of Candles and the Lower East Side Tenament Museum.
