Director Michael Montel's production of Arlene Hutton's The Last Train to Nibroc, officially ends its run March 21. The show opened Feb. 18 (previews from Feb. 11) at the 78th Street Theatre Lab. Montel directed the original production, which premiered Aug. 19, 1998 at the New York International Fringe Festival.

Set in World War II, Last Train follows two young Kentuckians who meet on a train carrying the bodies of Nathanael West and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Raliegh, the man, is inspired to leave Kentucky to seek a literary career in New York. May, on the other hand, returns to her home to maintain a life of diversion.

Hutton, a member of the New Dramatists, won the 1998 Samuel French Short Play Contest. Last Train was a finalist for the 1998 Denver Theatre Center's Francesca Primus Prize.

Montel is best known for directing Summer Brave with Jill Eikenberry, Philip Barry's Holiday with John Glover, and the revival of The Member of the Wedding with Mary Beth Hurt. His Off Broadway credits include Treats, In the Voodoo Parlor of Marie Laveu and The Juniper Tree.

Benim Foster and Alexandria Geis reprise their roles as Raleigh and May. Foster has appeared on "All My Children" and in the New York Shakespeare Festival's Henry V. Geis has worked at La MaMa, New York Theatre Workshop and the West Bank Downstairs. Tickets for Last Train are $15 and available by calling (212) 873-9050.
