This weekend, the Provincetown Repertory Theatre ends its world premiere production of Goreyphobia, by macabre illustrator and author Edward Gorey. The show began performances Aug. 17 and ends Sept. 11. Tony Award winning conductor & orchestrator Peter Matz composed the music for Goreyphobia, with Daniel Levans directing the collaboration. Gorey, dubbed with the moniker of "Master of the Macabre," is known for his drawing and illustrated tales of desolation, peopled with skeletons, devils and demons. Though having somewhat of a childish flair, the books tackle adult themed subjects like death, loss and how creepy and disgusting infants can be. Books by Gorey include, "Amphigorey," "The Unstrung Harp," and "The Bug Book."

Before the summer got "Gorey," The Provincetown Rep kicked off their fifth season with Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful (June 15 - July 3), followed by Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie (July 13-Aug. 8). For tickets or more information about Goreyphobia call (508) 487- 2400.
