Johanna Day, Molly Ringwald and Brian Kerwin star in the Mark Taper Forum staging of Paula Vogel's How I Learned to Drive, which opened Feb. 25 and ends its schedule run April 4. The show began previews Feb. 13.

Day is an original member of the New York Off-Broadway cast, in which she played several roles as the Female Greek Chorus.

Ringwald and Kerwin are also old Paula Vogel hands. Ringwald, who played Li'l Bit in the Off-Broadway production of the Pulitzer-Prize winning drama, will repeat her performance at the Taper. Meanwhile, Kerwin, who was Uncle Peck in the Intiman Theatre's Drive in Seattle, will play opposite her, again as Peck.

Mark Brokaw, who first helmed the play at the Vineyard Theatre in New York, returns to restage the work. Since first mounting Drive, he has directed Craig Lucas' The Dying Gaul and the acclaimed, long in-coming return of Kenneth Lonergan's This is Our Youth.

A memory play, Drive tells the complex, moving tale of the complicated, incestuous relationship between a young Southern girl and her uncle. Ringwald is primarily known for her film work in the John Hughes youth films "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club." Aside from Drive , her stage credits include Horton Foote's Lily-Dale. Kerwin has appeared on the New York stage in The Little Foxes at Lincoln Center and Raised in Captivity at the Vineyard. His numerous television credits include the lead in the mini-series "The Blue and the Gray."

In addition to the Pulitzer Prize, Vogel's play won Best Play Awards for 1997 from the New York Drama Critics Circle and the Outer Critics Circle, in addition to the Obie Award, the Drama Desk Award and the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Play.
