New Hampshire's Seacoast Repertory Theatre (SRT) will close their all youth production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, April 11. The show opened March 13 at 125 Bow Street in Portsmouth.
The show, which was written by Richard R. George, is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's book of that title (later made into the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"). Dahl has also written "James and the Giant Peach" and "Fantastic Mr. Fox."
Charlie is the story of five golden ticket winners who get a chance to take a tour of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. What happens inside is wilder than anything they ever could have imagined.
All audience members have a chance of becoming winners themselves, as the theatre holds a special contest for a golden ticket winner at each performance.
Charlie is directed by Michael Letch. The show is sponsored by Citizens Bank with Qosnetics and Meetinghouse Data Communications sponsoring sets and wardrobe. SRT are also holding auditions for their upcoming youth productions of The Big Bad Wolf and Alice in Wonderland.. For audition information call (603) 433-7272.
Tickets to Charlie are $5 and are available by calling (603) 433- 4472.
