LOS ANGELES -- The National Play Award committee of National Repertory Theatre is accepting entries for its annual competition, which will award $5,000 and a production or staged reading of the winning script, as well as $500 to four runners-up.

Entries must be full-length original plays -- no musicals, translations or adaptations. Judges include Barbara Beckley, actress and founder producing director of the Colony Studio Theatre; playwright-theatre director-professor Leon Katz; actor-director Alan Mandell; and playwright-director Del Shores.
Last year's winner was A Namib Spring by Patrick Baliani.
