Frederick Knott's Wait Until Dark will end its scheduled run at Ellenville, NY's Shadowland, Aug. 22. Performances began July 30. Brendan Burke, who acted in the last three Shadowland productions, directs.
Wait Until Dark concerns a menacing drug dealer terrorizing a blind woman and her pesky, young next-door neighbor over a child's doll. Other thrillers by Knott include 1961's Write Me A Murder and 1952's Dial "M" For Murder.
Alison Rees-Taylor stars as the blind Suzy with Robert Gomes (Broadway's Last Night of Ballyhoo, Racing Demon) as con man Mike Talman. Also in the cast are Dan Barbaro (Carlino), Jack Harris (Roat), eight year old Rebecca Cohen (Gloria), Michael Thibeault (Sam Hendrix), Marc Schroeder (Policeman) and Doug J. Aguirre (Policeman).
Tickets are $15-$11 and are available by calling (914) 647-5511. Next up at the theatre will be Shelagh Stevenson's The Memory of Water, Aug. 27-Sept. 12.
