  • Ragtime (On Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre). Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens' epic American musical made a Broadway return after a regional bow at the Kennedy Center under the direction of Marcia Milgrom Dodge. The 40-actor production, replete with a 28-piece orchestra, brings to life the early 1900s-set E.L.   • In the Next Room… or the vibrator play (On Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre). Sarah Ruhl's acclaimed comedy about hysterical women and their medical treatment at the dawn of the electric age stars Tony winners Laura Benanti and Michael Cerveris, as well as Maria Dizzia and Chandler Williams.   • The 39 Steps (On Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre). The Tony-winning madcap Alfred Hitchcock-inspired caper boasts a cast of four who portray over 150 characters as they re-create the 1935 film on stage thanks to theatrical ingenuity.   • The Addams Family (World Premiere at Chicago's Oriental Theatre). The Broadway-bound musical based on the characters of Charles Addams stars Nathan Lane, Bebe Neuwirth, Kevin Chamberlin and Jackie Hoffman. Andrew Lippa penned the score to the show that has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. The musical is set to bow on Broadway March 8 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
