Concluding Feb. 19 Merrily We Roll Along (Off-Broadway at New York City Center). The cast of the City Center Encores! production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's short-lived but tuneful Broadway musical Merrily We Roll Along is headed by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda as lyricist Charley Kringas, Colin Donnell as songwriter Franklin Shepard, Celia Keenan-Bolger as magazine writer Mary Flynn, Betsy Wolfe as Franklin's wife Beth, Elizabeth Stanley as Gussie Carnegie, Adam Grupper as producer Joe Josephson and Zachary Unger as Frank Jr. Visit NYCityCenter.

The Philanderer (Off-Broadway at Pearl Theatre Company at New York City Center Stage II). Bernard Shaw's playful satire serves up a wise and wicked portrait of the perilous joys of love in a modern age. "A spirited tale of thwarted sexual adventure in the jungles of bohemian London, which begins with Leonard Charteris, the philanderer of the title, caught in a most distressing social situation that he brilliantly talks his way out of." Giant (Dallas Theater Center in Dallas, TX). The New York-aimed production of Michael John LaChiusa and Sybille Pearson's musical adaptation of Edna Ferber's iconic novel Giant ends its run at the Dallas Theater Center. The musical—a sweeping drama of love and American ambition set against the battle between Texas oil tycoons and cattle barons—is a co-production between DTC and the Public Theater in Manhattan.
