Yale Repertory Theatre's world premiere production ofRice Boy, written by Yale School of Drama graduate Sunil Kuruvilla and staged by Obie-Award-winning director Liz Diamond, closes Nov. 11. The show opened Oct. 19 at Yale Repertory Theater in New Haven. In Rice Boy, 12-year-old Tommy sits in a tree, trying to make sense of his Indian heritage and contemplating a bleak future living in Canada with his father. The show documents Tommy’s “flight across the Canadian countryside in search of a family who will allow him to ‘do what normal people do.’”
