News Late Nite Comic Gets Cast Recording with James, Testa, Murney and Ziemba A slew of Broadway performers appear on the 20th anniversary cast recording of Brian Gari's ill-fated musical Late Nite Comic.

In 1987 composer-lyricist Brian Gari saw his musical Late Nite Comic last only 19 performances (including previews) on Broadway. Robert LuPone starred. Gari's experiences led to the creation of the book "We Bombed in New London: The Inside Story of the Broadway Musical Late Nite Comic" which detailed the musical's brief and troubled trip to the Great White Way.

In celebration of the book, Gari returned to the studio to record the first-ever cast album of the musical, boasting the Broadway talents of Brian D'Arcy James, Julia Murney, Karen Ziemba, Howard McGillin, Mary Testa, Liz Callaway, Chip Zien, Liz Larsen, Sal Viviano, Mario Cantone, Jason Graae, Paul Shaffer, Rupert Holmes, Tony Roberts, Daniel Reichard, Martin Vidnovic and Seth Rudetsky.

The recording includes Larry Hochman's original Broadway orchestrations, as well as all cut songs from the production. Sales from the recording benefit the Actors Fund.

Songs from Late Nite Comic include "Stand Up," "The Best in the Business," "Nothing's Changin' This Love," "Having Someone," "It Had to Happen Sometime," "Think Big," "Obsessed," "When I Am Movin'," "It's Such a Different World," and the title song.
