The newsman's performance as a Latin soap star will be featured at 6:45 AM ET Nov. 7 and 8 on the CBS Channel 2 News program.
Latinologues, a collection of monologues about the Latino experience in America officially opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre Oct. 13. The production — created and written by Rick Najera — comes to Broadway after touring the country the past few years; it won the 2004 Imagen Award for Best Live Theatrical Production. "It's comedy with a universal appeal with a Latin flavor," says creator Najera.
Latinologues, performed in English, is playing a limited 12-week engagement through Dec. 4. The Broadway company comprises Najera, Eugenio Derbez, Rene Lavan and Shirley A. Rumierk. Cheech Marin directs.
Latinologues plays Tuesday-Friday evenings at 8 PM, Saturdays at 5 and 9 PM and Sundays at 3 and 7 PM. Tickets are available by calling (212) 239-6200. The Helen Hayes Theatre is located at 240 West 44th Street.
