News Lauper to Be Part of Rosie O’Donnell’s Find Me On Broadway Cyndi Lauper has signed on to the Broadway-bound play with music Find Me.

Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman reports that 1980s pop star Lauper will write and perform music in the new Broadway production, based on Rosie O'Donnell's best-selling book "Find Me." The two-character play will star O'Donnell and another actress yet-to-be-named. Friedman writes, "Lauper is putting together a bunch of her lesser known songs and new works as well to underscore O'Donnell's vision. The pair has been working together for some time, hatching the idea." Although no director has been named, Find Me is aiming for a debut near the end of the year. As previously announced, John McDaniel will serve as musical director for the production. In an earlier interview for Playbill On-Line, McDaniel spoke about the upcoming project: "[Rosie is] so wildly talented in so many ways, and how she expresses herself [in the book] is so unique, and it's a great story."

It's a busy time for former talk-show host O'Donnell, who will be one of the co-producers of the New York engagement of Taboo. The Broadway mounting of the Boy George musical will bow at the Plymouth Theatre in the fall. Charles Busch is supplying an entirely new book for the musical, which will be directed by Christopher Renshaw.
