Watch as the new star of the Lincoln Center Theater revival takes direction from a true Broadway baby.

Tony winner Laura Benanti assumed the role of Eliza Doolittle in the Tony-nominated revival production of My Fair Lady October 23. Now that she has a week of performances under her belt, Lincoln Center Theater has released “footage” of Benanti in rehearsals for the demanding role, but under the watchful eye of her daughter Ella.

Watch Benanti as she tries to practice her English dialect, rehearse choreography, and sing her solo in preparation for the stage.

Benanti is set to play a limited engagement through February 17, 2019, at the Vivian Beaumont. Ambrose played her final performance October 21, exiting to film the recently announced untitled M. Night Shyamalan series for Apple.

Benanti joins a cast led by Harry Hadden-Paton, Norbert Leo Butz (who will play the role through January 6, 2019, with Danny Burstein set to take over), Rosemary Harris (who replaced Diana Rigg beginning last month), Allan Corduner, Jordan Donica, Linda Mugleston, and Clarke Thorell. The production is directed by Tony winner Barlett Sher and choreographed by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli.

The actor was last seen on Broadway in Meteor Shower alongside Amy Schumer, Jeremy Shamos, and Keegan-Michael Key. She was nominated for a Tony for her work as Amalia Balash in the 2016 revival of She Loves Me from Roundabout Theatre Company and won a Tony Award for her performance of Louise in Gypsy. She also received Tony nominations for her work in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and Into the Woods.
