PlayBlog Laura Linney to Appear on CBS' "The Early Show" Aug. 16 Emmy winner and Tony and Oscar nominee Laura Linney will appear on CBS' "The Early Show" Aug. 16 to talk about the return of her Tony-nominated play, Time Stands Still, and the premiere of her new Showtime series, "The Big C."

Donald Margulies' Time Stands Still premiered at the Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre this spring, garnering Tony nominations for the play and for Linney's performance as a photo-journalist returning home after a particularly dangerous run-in with covering war-torn areas. The play went on hiatus to accommodate the production of "The Big C" and will resume performances Sept. 23 (official opening Oct. 7) at the Cort Theatre.

"The Big C," in which Linney plays a teacher battling terminal cancer, will premiere Aug. 16 at 10:30 PM ET on Showtime.

"The Early Show" airs in the New York metropolitan area on CBS-2 between 7 and 9 AM ET. Check local listings.
