A spokesperson for the League of American Theatres and Producers has confirmed that Broadway theatres will be closed New Year's Eve. The clarification comes just 100 days before the celebration, and one day after sources had said there was discussion on the issue and that many felt that seeing shows on New Year's Eve was a valuable tradition that was worth continuing. Among those in favor of keeping theatres open on New Year's Eve was NYC Community Board 5 president Lola Finkelstein.
