The Leight magic continues. The new Off-Broadway production of Tony winning playwright Warren Leight's 1994 play, The Loop, has sold out the two remaining performances -- Sept. 23-24 -- of its extension week. The Mobius Group production commenced Sept. 9 for a two-week run which was soon extended to three.

Leight's Side Man won the 1999 Tony for best play.

The Loop was first staged in fall of 1984 at the Harold Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row. One of the stars of that production, Austin Pendleton (Finian's Rainbow), repeats his performance in the new incarnation. Also in the 11-person cast are Joe Grifasi ("Presumed Innocent," "One Fine Day"), Tom Bloom, Cynthia Carrol, Jen Davis, Rick Gradone, Maggie Kiley, Nile Lanning, Tonia Lynn, Paul Marcarelli and Josh Stramberg.

The Loop is described as "La Ronde with feeling," referring to Arthur Schnitzler's famous play about a daisy chain of sexual encounters. David Hare's The Blue Room, recently on Broadway, was a modern take on La Ronde.

Hilary Hinckle, managing director of the Atlantic Theatre Company, directs. The Loop plays at the Currican Theatre, 154 W. 29th St. For information, call (212) 358-3667.
