News Let Go, Mandy Patinkin's New Song-Cycle Concert, Will Premiere in Florida Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin will test his new concept concert, Let Go, in February 2012 at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Aventura, FL, near Miami.

The singing actor, who won a Tony Award creating the role of Che in Broadway's Evita, is currently appearing on Broadway in An Evening With Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin.

"I'm working on another original piece of my own called Let Go that I'm going to give birth to in February," he said in an interview for Playbill.com's The Leading Men column. "I have a week's engagement in Florida [at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center] where I'm going to put in on the boards and start working out the kinks, although I've really been working on it a long time. It's sort of a musical photograph of a generic family — both of any generic family and the family of our country at the same time. It's a song cycle of 110 minutes."

Let Go will play Feb. 23-26, 2012.

Here's how Aventura Arts & Cultural Center bills the engagement: "Who we were, who we are, who we might become. In Let Go, Mandy Patinkin's latest and most intimate concert, he creates musical photographs — of ourselves, our families, our country. Through the words and music of some of the greatest American composers, from Arlen to Berlin, from Sondheim to Bernstein, from Newman to Waits, Let Go is an extraordinary musical journey that brings our family album to life."

In addition to his work on TV's "Chicago Hope," "Criminal Minds" and "Homeland," Patinkin is known for his Broadway roles in The Secret Garden, Falsettos, The Wild Party and Sunday in the Park With George, plus his many piano-and-voice concerts, which have spawned albums.
