Snatches, a collection of the taped telephone conversations between intern Monica Lewinsky and her confidante, Linda Tripp, opens Off-Broadway Aug. 16 at the 78th Street Theatre Lab. The comedy, adapted verbatim from the women's talks by Laura Strausfield (Longing for Home + Pain = Nostalgia), runs through Sept. 8.

Snatches covers all the important issues two politically interested women in Washington, DC might talk about - who is the best hairstylist in the area, how to tell the President you're in love with him and how to get a good job (especially that other kind Lewinsky made famous). In a released statement, Strausfield said Tripp and Lewinsky's relationship mirrors many female friendships, echoing "the companionship, intimacy, competition, jealousy and betrayal" women feel with their friends.

Patricia Chilsen is Tripp with Jean Taylor as Lewinsky. Chilsen recently appeared in Century Center's The Wild Duck. A 78th Street Lab regular, Taylor starred in their Rockaby, One Flea Spare and The Frog Prince.

Tickets are $15. The 78th Street Theatre Lab is located at 236 West 78th Street. For reservations, call (212) 873-9050.
