Contemporary Dance Theatre New York will present the dance/theatre piece, Trust Me at Lincoln Center's Clark Studio, March 25-28. A fairy tale for modern times, Trust Me synthesizes the media of dance and theatre to pursue thematic elements of love and the illusions we create to avoid it and embrace it.
Trust Me features choreography by Jennifer Kries, text by Susan Eve Haar, and is directed by Benjamin Krevolin.
CDTNY investigates what Aristotle dubbed as "total theatre" -- an involvement of music, dance and text to go beyond the limits of naturalistic representation. In expanding and combining numerous dance styles (modern, jazz, Flamenco, folk, and ballet) with a narrative text, CDTNY attempts to give greater depth and emotion than the usual fare of each individual medium.
