The evening of the Bard's work, which was originally scheduled for March 2 at 6 PM, was cancelled to due the snowstorm that hit the east coast on Monday. The Library has rescheduled the event for 7:30 PM on March 18 in the Bruno Walter Auditorium. Harold Holzer will provide context for the selections. According to NYPL press notes, "Lincoln carried a volume of Shakespeare's plays with him around the White House, frequently reading aloud to family and staff, and purportedly outshining any professional of the day with his interpretation of Richard III's opening soliloquy."

The event is free and open to the public. For further information phone (212) 870-1630 or visit NYPL.
