Romulus Linney, Joe Pintauro, Dale Ramsey and four other playwrights will voice their responses to Sept. 11 in Unresolved, a new Off-Broadway evening of one acts presented by The Open Gate Human Rights Theatre, Nov. 21-Dec. 15.

Sept. 11 has already inspired several evenings of theatre in New York, including The Guys, the long-running Off-Broadway play by Anne Nelson, and Brave New World, the marathon weekend of new work presented at Town Hall on the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Like the plays in Brave New World, the septet of works in Unresolved represent the playwrights' artistic reactions to the catastrophe and its aftermath.

The plays include: Bless Me, Father by Jeff Baron, which takes place in a church confessional; CODA by Romulus Linney, a "dramatic meditation of a possible afterlife"; Rosen's Son by Joe Pintauro, about a man's reaction to his dead son's lover taking on a new romantic partner; Vermont by Dale Ramsey, about a scientist who retreats north after losing his son on Sept. 11; ELLIPSIS by Steven Fechter, in which a woman constantly relives the last morning she saw her husband alive; Floating World by Laren Stover, the author's look at general "fragility and loss"; and Cocooning by R. David Robinson, where one man responds to the tragedy by quitting his job and happily holing up in his apartment.

Linney is the author of countless plays, including 2 and Tennessee. Pintauro's works include The Raft of the Medusa and Men's Lives. Baron is best known for Visiting Mr. Green, which ran Off-Broadway with Eli Wallach. The show will take place at Sande Shurin Theatre (311 W. 43rd Street). For tickets, call (212) 206-1515.
